Gemini

Gemini is the name of Google's AI models and assistant. We use it for research, for analyzing images and video and for work in Google Docs and Sheets; decisions stay with our team.

What Is Gemini?

Gemini is the name of the AI models developed by Google DeepMind and of the assistant built on them. The assistant was launched as Bard in 2023 and renamed Gemini in 2024. It's multimodal: alongside text, it can understand images, audio, video and code.

Gemini is woven into Google's products: in Google Workspace apps such as Gmail, Docs and Sheets it helps with writing, summarizing and analysis, and on Android phones it can be used as an assistant. Deep Research turns a multi-step research task into a report with its sources.

Like every AI assistant, Gemini can make mistakes; current and numerical information in particular should be checked at the source. We treat Gemini's output as a starting point and use the results with our team's judgment.

Where We Use Gemini

We draw on Gemini especially for work close to Google's ecosystem:

  • Research with Sources

When studying an industry or market, we use Deep Research to gather and summarize sources, then assess the key findings with our team.

  • Image and Screenshot Analysis

We have it list what stands out in competitors' ads, page designs and interface screenshots, as groundwork for design discussions.

  • Video Research

We have it summarize YouTube videos from the industry as a quick starting point for ad ideas and content plans.

  • Work in Google's Tools

We speed up jobs such as formulas and summaries in Sheets and drafting and editing in Docs, right inside Google's own tools.

Why Gemini?

  • Fits Google's Ecosystem

It works in the same place as Docs, Sheets and Gmail, so there's no need to jump between tools.

  • Multimodal Understanding

Understanding images and video as well as text saves time in visually led work.

  • Research with Sources

Deep Research presents findings with their sources, making them easier to verify and explore further.
