What Is Google Tag Manager?
Google Tag Manager (GTM) is Google's free tag management system. A small piece of code (the container) is added to your site once; after that, tags from analytics and advertising tools are managed inside the container. Adding new tracking doesn't require changing the site's code.
GTM works with three building blocks: tags (what is sent), triggers (when it's sent) and variables (which information goes with it). The data layer passes information from the site, such as a product's price or a form's type, to the tags in an orderly way.
Preview mode lets changes be tested on the real site before they go live, and every publish is saved as a version that can be rolled back if needed. Features such as server-side tagging and consent settings help keep data accurate and respect visitors' choices.
Where We Use Tag Manager
Whenever a site needs a tracking or advertising tag, we set it up through GTM. The jobs we do most often:
GA4 and Google Ads Tags
We connect events, from page views to form submissions, to GA4, and key results to Google Ads conversions.
Meta Pixel
We set up the pixel and standard events for Meta ads, configuring triggers carefully so the same event isn't counted twice.
E-Commerce Data Layer
We measure product views, add-to-carts and purchases with product and value details, and pass correct revenue data to the ad dashboards.
Respecting Cookie Consent
We connect the tags to your cookie banner: tags behave according to whatever consent the visitor has given.
Why Google Tag Manager?
No Code Changes
Adding a new campaign tag or fixing a measurement doesn't have to wait for a development cycle.
Order and History
All tags sit in one place, named and versioned. Who changed what, and when, is always clear.
Tested Before Launch
Preview mode shows that each tag fires at the right moment with the right information, so faulty tracking is caught before it affects your ad budget.
How We Work on Your Project
After drawing up the measurement plan, we add the container to the site and set up tags, triggers and variables with clear naming. If needed, we prepare the site's data layer together.
We check every change in preview mode, in GA4's debug view and in the ad platforms' test tools, then publish it as a version with notes. As campaigns change we keep the container tidy and remove tags that are no longer used.
