What Is Adobe InDesign?
Adobe InDesign is Adobe's page layout software, used to design documents of many pages for print and screen: books, magazines, catalogs, brochures and reports. Text, images and graphics are placed in frames on the page, and the program handles typography with great precision. Adobe released the first version in 1999 as the successor to PageMaker, and InDesign runs on Windows and macOS.
Parent pages, called master pages until 2021, carry the elements that repeat, such as page numbers, headers and the grid. Paragraph, character, object and table styles define the look of each element once and apply it everywhere. Images are linked rather than copied, so a Photoshop or Illustrator file changed at its source can be refreshed in the layout in one step, and the Preflight panel warns about missing fonts, missing images or text that overflows its frame.
InDesign exports print-ready PDFs to standards such as PDF/X, as well as interactive PDFs with clickable links and buttons. It supports right-to-left text, with Arabic options such as kashida justification, which lengthens the joins between letters to fill a line. It is paid software, available by subscription on its own or as part of Adobe Creative Cloud, and it can be tried for free.
Where We Use InDesign
Whenever a brand needs a document longer than a few pages, we lay it out in InDesign. Most often for:
Brand Guidelines
The brand book explains how to use the logo, colors, typefaces and tone of voice. We set it up in InDesign so it can be printed and also shared as a PDF with a clickable table of contents.
Brochures and Catalogs
For trade fairs, sales meetings and product ranges we design brochures and catalogs on a consistent grid. Product names, codes and descriptions follow the same styles on every page, so readers find what they need quickly.
Company Profiles
The document you send to partners and investors tells your story in a few clear pages. We prepare it in Turkish, English and Arabic, with the Arabic edition laid out to read from right to left.
Interactive PDFs
Presentations, proposals and digital catalogs meant for screens get clickable contents, links and buttons. They are lighter than print files and easy to send by email or open on a phone.
Why InDesign?
Consistency through Styles
When a heading style changes, every heading in the document changes with it. Even across dozens of pages and several languages, the layout stays consistent and updates stay quick.
Print-Ready Output
CMYK and spot colors (pre-mixed special inks), bleed (the extra margin trimmed off after printing) and PDF/X exports give printers exactly what they expect, and Preflight catches problems before they reach the press.
Ready for Arabic
InDesign sets Arabic from right to left with proper justification and digit options, so the Arabic edition gets the same care as the Turkish and English ones.
How We Work on Your Project
We start with the content and the purpose: who will read the document, whether it will be printed or read on screen, and in which languages. We build the grid, parent pages and styles from your brand identity, place images prepared in Photoshop and Illustrator, and share drafts as PDFs for your comments.
Before handover we run Preflight, check fonts, image resolution, colors and bleed against your printer's specifications, and proofread every language. You receive a print-ready PDF, a lighter PDF for screens and, if agreed, the packaged InDesign files with their images, fonts included where the font license allows.
