What Is Google Maps?
Google Maps is Google's map and navigation service, used on the web and as an app. When someone searches for a type of business or service in an area, on Maps or in Google Search, local results appear alongside a map. Each business in them is shown through its Google Business Profile: name, address, opening hours, phone number, website, photos and reviews.
The Business Profile, called Google My Business until 2021, is free to create and manage. The owner verifies the business by a method Google selects, such as a short video, and then controls its details: categories, hours, service area, products and services, photos, and posts for news, offers or events. Customers can leave reviews, and the business can reply to each one publicly.
According to Google, local results are ranked mainly on relevance (how well a profile matches the search), distance and prominence (how well known the business is, including its reviews and links from other websites). There is no way to pay for a better position in these results; ads on Maps are a separate channel, run through Google Ads.
Where We Use Google Maps
For any business that serves customers at an address or within an area, local SEO starts on the map. These are the parts we take care of:
Profile Setup and Verification
We create or claim the profile, deal with duplicate listings and enter the basics as they really are: your name as it appears on your sign, the right main category, opening hours, phone and address or service area.
Photos and Posts
We add real photos of your premises, team and work rather than stock images, and publish posts for news, offers and events, so the profile looks active and up to date.
Reviews and Replies
We help you ask satisfied customers for reviews using Google's own link or QR code, without the incentives Google forbids, and draft polite replies, including to critical reviews, in the reviewer's language.
Consistency with Your Website
Your name, address, phone and hours match on the profile and the site, where we add local business structured data. The website link carries a tracking tag, so visits from Maps show up separately in Google Analytics 4.
Why Google Maps?
Found at the Moment of Need
Someone searching for a service nearby is often ready to act: to call, get directions or visit. The profile puts each of those steps one tap away.
Free and Yours to Control
The profile costs nothing and you decide what it says. Accurate hours and details spare customers a wasted trip and spare you missed calls.
Trust Customers Can See
Reviews, replies and real photos show how a business treats its customers before anyone walks in, and Google counts reviews among the signals for local ranking.
How We Work on Your Project
We begin by checking whether your business already has a profile, who controls it and whether duplicates exist. Then we correct the basics in line with Google's guidelines, without adding keywords to the business name, which can get a profile suspended, complete verification and add photos, services and a description.
Before handing over, we compare every detail with your website, test the call, directions and website buttons, and agree on a routine for answering reviews. Each month we report from the profile's performance data: views, the searches that found you, calls, direction requests and website clicks.
